Left Calgary around 10am. A beautiful morning, temperature around 18 Celsius. Beautiful ride to Red Deer where I stopped for fuel. I didn’t have to, but did anyway to stretch the legs. Headed for Drayton Valley via Sylvan Lake which was a beautiful ride. Met some other bikers from Red Deer at the Tim Hortons car park in Drayton Valley. Grabbed a fresh coffee and a muffin then off to Whitecourt. I decided to stop at Mayerthorpe to check out the memorial to the fallen RCMP officers. Weather fluctuated between 18 and 24. Bike performed great and all the luggage hung on well. The hotel at Whitecourt is right next to the Lost Creek, a tributary of the Athabasca River. Put the line in but no luck as the River was moving pretty fast. Wasn’t even sure if I was allowed to fish there as I couldn’t find it on the regulations. Went for McDonalds and back to the hotel for the night.
